MemoServ is a utility allowing IRC users to send short messages to other IRC users, whether they are online at the time or not, or to channels for anyone with auto-op access or higher. Both sender and recipient must have their nicknames registered with NickServ in order to send a memo, or if the recipiant is a channel, it must be registered with ChanServ.
All commands to the MemoServ are sent with the /msg command. For
example, /msg memoserv@services.dal.net HELP
will show you the MemoServ help
information. You may have to switch to your chat program's status window to
see the MemoServ response.
